Crouched on a mattress on a floor in Shanghai right now tapping quickly to beat back the night. Yesterday was a sad goodbye to Beijing and all its great friends, a plane ride, a dinner at Charmant, my last 5 dollar haircut, a drop-in on a friend.Tonight was dinner at Charmant (whoops) and drinks at the Hut and then a meandering cab ride down dark familiar streets.
Very soon my little China clock...

Oh yes, I just realized this weekend that the trip to Qingdao means I’ve now been in all the Chinese cities that will host Olympic events. Equestrian events in HK, Sailing in Qingdao, Soccer prelims in Shanghai, and the other assorted events of wonder in Beijing.

I got back from Qingdao last night and fell face first into the internet, and then bed. Woke up with an awfully scritchy throat and alternately runny/clogged nose, and promptly reset the alarm and decided to skip class.
